For the sourcing office of a European textile & accessories company, Talent Fishers is looking for a Branch Manager to accompany the growth of the Business Activity in China.
Location: Nanjing
Reporting to: General Manager (based in Shanghai)
Scope: Manage the Nanjing office, focusing on sourcing and quality control for the company headquarters.
Job description
- Manage office operations within company policies and procedures
- Manage a team of 15 merchandisers, supplier engineers, QC and assistant
- Supervise the selection and development of new suppliers
- Ensure timely response to quotation requests from headquarter
- Lead weekly meetings with merchandisers to ensure follow up of orders, samples, quality and logistics issues
- Ensure smooth cooperation between buyers in Europe and merchandisers in China
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers, supervise large contract negotiations
- Follow up on outstanding invoice payments
- Ensure good understanding of quality control standards among the QC team
- Strive for continuous quality process and system improvement
- Supervise the sourcing and evaluation of new suppliers for samples according to European headquarter needs
- Ensure the motivation of each team member, provide training when necessary
- Follow up on human resources tasks and regularly report to the GM
- Control and approve weekly staff expenses and reimbursement
Job requirements
- University degree, preferably in economics or supply chain management
- Experience in textile & apparel industry
- Experience in sourcing or quality
- Significant experience in industrial environment in China
- Experience in a foreign company
- Minimum 5 years experience in leading a team
- Experience in managing an office/branch preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good project management skills
- Ready to travel
- Well organized
- Hands on
- Strong problem solving skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Knowledge of French is a plus
