Our client is designing, building and selling Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB).
We are looking for a Director of Operations on behalf of this client, to help take over, optimize and develop all operational aspects of the company’s business.
Job location: Weihai, China
Reporting to: Managing Director and Co-Founder
Job Description
Organize and oversee the daily operations of our company.
In charge of the following departments:
Production
Supply chain (planning, purchasing, warehouse)
Quality
Technical
Responsible for yearly production budget (capacity, headcounts, consumables, CAPEX)
Improve production system by implementing LEAN management
Manage cost-reduction projects (industrial engineering, automation…) – accountable for ROI
Identify areas of improvement to enhance efficiency or product integrity
Manage production and ensure the correct product quality and daily output
Ensure product is built according to current work instructions/drawings as required
Control distribution and allocation of production materials, consumables and tools
Keep the workplace tidy and organized, ensuring targeted standards are met
Develop training / schooling program with HR
Ensure the workforce is appropriately skilled and regularly assessed for skill, effort and attitude. When/where there is an issue, coach and mentor the individual
Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager
Job Requirements
At least 5 years of work experience in China
Strong engineering / industrial background
English and Chinese languages
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Outstanding communication and people skills
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Good aptitude to coach / mentor / develop people
Boating enthusiast is a good plus
