Our client is a leading Lifestyle brand, originating from France, with more than 15 000 employees globally and several well-known brands.

The APAC headquarters are located in Shanghai, and to ensure a proper expansion, they are looking for a Commercial Controller for the region (covering Japan, South Korea, South East Asia, and Pacific), reporting both the APAC CFO and the Zone GM.


Job Description

• Drawing-up and communicating to the Sales organizations of the Zone, the Zone management and the Group Controlling department, monthly indicators/metrics and analyses (bridges) related to the commercial activity of the company in the region: sales , margin, trade actions, marketing and selling expense
• Liaising with the respective GMs, ensuring the full controlling and the monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting of each and every entity of the Zone to the Zone management and the Group
• Liaising with the company’s supply centers (in China, France, UAE and Russia) to get analyses on their direct sales to the Zone and forecast accordingly
• Liaising with financial controllers, taking full ownership and managing the part of budget process related to the sales and selling expenses of the Zone
• Helping drive the business by identifying on a timely basis any deviation versus the anticipated/expected sales, margin and selling expenses.
• Challenging and validating the rebates, promotion and trade action plans submitted by the Zone’s Sales organizations and control their execution
• Liaising with the bookkeeping firms in order to ensure the accuracy and compliance of the statutory accounts and tax returns
• Managing and forecasting the cash and cash conversion cycle of these entities including matters related to payment terms
• By delegation, approving the payments of these entities
• Validating the tax returns (the tax computation and the draw-up of the tax returns is outsourced)
• Managing the relationship with external auditors


Job Requirements

• Strong experience of reporting and of market controlling in an international and Consumer goods oriented group
• Strong industrial exposure / background : the candidate should have the ability to understand / identify the commercial issues in the region and talk to Sales people
• Experience of dealing with distributors
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Business objects
• English fluent (both spoken and written)
• Knowledge of Hyperion is a plus
