SEA Retail Manager cum BD Manager - Luxury Retail

Job description

  • Reporting to: Head of Asia
  • Responsible for Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam market
  • Develop and execute retail and business development strategy;
  • Deliver effective leadership and management across the retail chain to enhance all aspects of the retail departments financial, staff and operational performance;
  • Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
  • Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales
  • Analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
  • Using information technology to record sales figures, analyze SEA data and forward plan
  • Defining new store location based on sales data; dealing with landlords to finalize agreement
  • Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
  • Providing or organizing training and development
  • Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  • Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues
  • Responding to customer complaints and comments
  • Organizing special promotions, displays and events
  • Attending and chairing meetings
  • Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
  • Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what competitors are doing
  • Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
  • Promoting the organization locally by liaising with local newspapers and the community in general
  • Dealing with sales, as and when required.


Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales management experience in retail, luxury retail, or service related industry, not including additional successful retail selling experience;
  • Bachelor Degree in a related field is preferred;
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese. Fair Chinese would be a huge plus
  • Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business;
  • Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
  • Industry awareness and strong business acumen;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills;
  • Passion for the Fashion Industry;
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule which will include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • You will be responsible for monthly and yearly sales KPI achievement
  • Experienced in sales floor management and staff coaching
  • Result-driven and commercially minded
  • Approachable personality
