Our client operates within the Home Furnishing and Retail industries providing one-stop-shopping solutions for all home furnishing needs. They have a wide range of products covering furniture, home appliances and home accessories etc. To support and catalyze the growth of the client across Malaysia, Talent Fishers is looking for a Store General Manager for this client.
Job location: Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia
Reporting to: District Manager
Direct report: 4 (Sales/ Service/ Admin/ Operation Managers)
The Store General Manager will mainly be responsible to ensure the store’s smooth operation, continuous growth and customer happiness while training and developing the team members.
More specifically, your duties will consist of the following tasks:
Planning and implementing sales strategies and store operations in order to expand the customer group and to increase the sales volume.
Planning and implementing sales strategies to continuously achieve and exceed set revenue target.
Inventory management in adherence to the set guidelines. Ensuring that fast-moving goods are sufficient for serving the needs of the customers; whereas, the slow-moving and dead stock goods should be decreased.
Preparing and analyzing Sales, Inventory and Performance related reports and utilizing these reports as a tool to determine the future strategy. Sharing reports and forecasts with the management at regular intervals.
Controlling and inspecting the store’s petty cash and advanced money kept.
Supervising and guaranteeing the punctuality, speed and accuracy of all the departments and team members in the store. Ensuring on-time and effective delivery of goods.
Preserving and developing the store image by modernizing the store and ensuring proper visual merchandising layouts. Managing and ensuring the optimum use of Sale Area, Promotion Area etc.
Managing and maintaining the store standards in terms of cleanliness, safety and compliance to uphold the store image.
Develop team members to effectively address the customer queries and resolve customer issues.
Developing the team for smooth store operation as well as creating the atmosphere of one-team.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail industry, preferably in Furniture/ Appliances/ Super Markets/ Hyper Markets
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields of studies
Prior experience in team handling
Good communication skill in English, Bahasa Malaysia and any other local languages or dialects
Entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on attitude
