Marketing Manager - Asia Pacific

Our client is a global provider of garment, apparel and fashion labeling solutions to clients around the world. Represented through regional offices and local partners, the company an industry pioneer and a market leader. To support continued growth, the company seeks to hire a Marketing Manager, for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, also in Hong Kong, the regional Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering marketing strategies and activities. Accountable for supporting market share growth across the region while building the accreditation, the purpose of the role is to drive revenue generating opportunities while building brand equity across the region. 

Job Description:
  • Manage, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in a matrixed and decentralized organization
    • Ensure the existing culture of cooperation and alignment is expanded
    • Influence, inspire and develop the competencies necessary to take bold actions with confidence in pursuit of mutual determined goals
    • Ensure necessary control systems are in place to identify problem areas
    • Adopt and evangelize operational, management and cultural best practices  
  • Day-to-day management of all marketing tasks and accountabilities 
    • Ownership of pricing policies
    • Analyze monthly sales statistics 
    • Determine and communicate commercial opportunities relating to accreditations
    • Conduct accreditation reviews 
    • Communicate horizontally to efficiently resolve quality or service issues 
    • Evaluate and drive functional and group-wide service performance 
    • Coordination of designs and development of new products 
    • Sampling and feedstock approvals, artwork sign-off
    • Frequent communication with R&D department in South China plant
    • Oversee regulatory requirements as prescribed by accreditations
    • Communicate label program details to all stakeholders regionally
    • Responsible for website front-ends and promoting electronic ordering 
    • Ownership of proprietary supply chain and order fulfillment applications
  • Audit, analyze and optimize stock management
    • Assess and predict necessary stock of woven labels and paper 
    • Identify obsolete and slow-moving items and implement action plans 
    • Provide a rolling forecast across group and region for made-to-stock items
    • Ensure consistency and integrity of coding and product grouping 
  • Develop, localize and delivery lateral materials for industry events, trade shows
  • Participate in management reporting 
    • Develop short- and long-term strategies that delivers target account revenue
    • Present monthly consolidated sales reports with variance analysis 
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual reports against established budget and objectives
Job Requirements:
  • A technical degree from a reputable university
    • Post graduate degree desirable
  • 10 years' marketing experience within the labeling industry
    • Focus on product development required
    • Strong experience with strategy and analysis
    • Familiar with US and European market trends
    • Track-record of delivering strong results against mutually agreed goals   
  • Agile thinking and in reacting to market and business developments
    • Daring and Confident
    • Results-oriented and sales-motivated mindset
  • Great communication skills and ability to create close and trusted relationships 
    • Equally comfortable with customers, colleagues and partners at all levels
    • Fluent spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin necessary 
  • Able to work efficiently and independently 
    • History of developing and presenting reliable insights, forecast reports 
  • Good computer skills
    • MS Office programs including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook 
    • Familiarity with sophisticated supply chain and order management systems
  • Background working in a multi-national environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
    • Primarily to South China
