After a few years operating in China, they are now looking for a “Head of China”, to accelerate their growth on the local market.

This smart and driven individual will bring his/her own ideas to design the right China strategy and execute it to generate growth and market share.

Reporting to: Head of APAC (based in HQ, in California)



Job Description
 

This is a unique opportunity to get complete end-to-end P&L responsibility in one of the fastest- growing markets for the company in APAC. The Head of China will be responsible for growing on the current success of the brand in China, with accountability for all aspects of the business within the country. The client’s brand is unique with vast list of verticals from online ecommerce to offline retail (consumer electronics, lifestyle, specialty) gyms, fitness, medical, sports teams, and hospitality. They are already well established across many of the key retailers in China including Lane Crawford, Log-On, K11, and many others, as well as a flagship store on Tmall and JD.

The Head of China will be responsible for all major parts of the day-to-day business operations in China, which includes hiring and building out team, daily team management, online/offline sales, online/offline marketing, operations and demand planning, and distributor management.
The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and have the ability to work in a hyper-growth business environment.



Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for the company in China

  • Build out and manage the local Chinese team operations on a day-to-day basis

  • Hire new employees, establishing performance objectives, goals and criteria, evaluate

    performance and identify opportunities for growth and development

  • Build out and drive fast growth in offline sales channels across distributors and direct channels

  • Develop and execute fast growth plan in building out e-commerce across multiple channels

  • Develop and execute aggressive marketing plan across social platforms, offline marketing and

    activations, and brand building

  • Work with demand planning, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely forecasts and

    inventory management

  • Work in synergy with HQ to identify new growth opportunities and ways in which to improve

    the brand reputation and presence in China

  • Develop Yearly Business Plan and budget with monthly goals and KPIs

  • Manage our key partners across key channels in retail, distributors, and other large sales channels

  • Oversee the development, planning, and execution of marketing and promotion activities for the Chinese market

  • Localize marketing collateral to fit the needs of the Chinese consumer

  • Monitor and report business KPIs to company HQ, including P&L of the Chinese subsidiary

  • Monitor and be accountable for market metrics and develop actionable insights to improve

    the efficiency and performance of the market

  • Establish communication with the various departments at HQ (Sales, HR, Finance, Support,

    Production)

  • Provide support and direction to the team in the development and accomplishment of goals,

    objectives and action plans

  • Protect organization's value by keeping proprietary information confidential

  • Live and breathe the brand with an infectious passion for executing the brand’s mission


    Job Requirements
     

  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese

  • Previous experience as Country Head or Business Leader for a fast-growing consumer facing

    brand

  • P&L responsibility

  • Experience in hiring practices and accounting practices in China

  • Experience in launching a consumer facing brand in China from early stages or medium stage

  • Experience in managing and driving strategy across online channels: ecom, social,

    marketplaces, and other online channels.

  • Experience in developing B2B sales channels in retail, gyms, fitness, or consumer electronics

  • Very good understanding of the Digital and E-commerce ecosystems, in an omnichannel and

    “New Retail” environment

  • Experience in managing and developing social channel development and strategy in China

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

  • Analytical ability and the understanding of budgets, forecasting, and analyzing business trends

    to make quick adjustments in overall business plan and execution

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for building out brands and teams
