To support continued growth in Asia Pacific, the company seeks a Head of Sales focused on indirect, channel and partner sales management. Based in Asia Pacific, from either a satellite office or the company’s China, Japan or India offices, this is a key commercial leader and reports to the CEO/Founder, based in the head office.  Accountable for formulating, communicating and delivering near- and long-term business success, this person leads up to 10 application, sales and key account managers based in the company’s regional offices. The most-senior leader in the region, reporting to the CEO this person is a key member of the global management team.


Job Description

  • Hold commercial P&L for Asia Pacific
    • Join global senior management team
    • Report directly to CEO
    • Accountable for visibility into regional pipelines, forecasts and objectives
  • Manage all indirect sales partners and performance
    • Identify, vet and engage new indirect sales partners in existing and new markets
  • Integrate indirect sales into an established key account sales team as a business stakeholder
    • Motivate, develop, reward and manage the Asia sales team
  • Drive continuous collaboration across engineering, product and marketing functions
  • Strategic sales and marketing planning and execution
    • Organize sales operations around customer-first practices  
    • Achieve targeted growth across the APAC Region 
  • Grow and manage the sales and applications team in China, India and Japan
    • Hire commercial management, in established and new offices, across the region
    • Maintain, support and inculcate the global culture

Job Requirements        

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
    • Bio Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology
    • Master’s preferred but not required
  • At least ten years’ sales experience with multinational life sciences enterprises
  • At least five years' in a life sciences commercial leadership function
    • Successful history of channel sales management across Asia Pacific
    • Track-record of successful management of direct commercial reports
    • Experience managing in complex global reporting structures
  • Extensive applied knowledge of sales principles and practices
    • Ability and interest in training and coaching subordinates
  • Demonstrable history of delivering growth in mature and emerging markets
  • Strong background in strategic growth planning
    • Ideally in proteomics research equipment
  • Comfortable managing internal and external stakeholders and expectations
  • Able to multitask in a deadline-driven, results-oriented, high-growth culture
  • A market, customer and application expert
    • Meticulous, precise and transparent
    • Autonomous, self-motivated and accountable
  • Strong problem solving of complex commercial and technical problems
    • Comfortable prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities
  • Fluent in English necessary
    • Other language fluency an asset
  • Curious and imaginative
  • Travel up to 40% in Asia
    • Occasional international travel
