MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
- This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the Asia Pacific region, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and driving financial performance to support company’s strategic goals.
- This role will act as a key business partner to the regional leadership team, providing financial insights and guidance to optimize profitability and growth.
Financial Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and execute the regional financial strategy in alignment with company’s global objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the APAC leadership team to support decision-making and business growth.
- Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
Finance Reporting and Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for the region, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, and international financial standards (IFRS).
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audits and compliance with corporate policies.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with regional business units to provide financial insights and support for key initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
- Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and regional economic conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support the development of pricing strategies and profitability analysis for the region.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing regional finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate financial risks across the region, including currency fluctuations, credit risks, and regulatory changes.
- Implement robust internal controls and governance frameworks to safeguard company assets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA/CA/ACCA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 8-10 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational corporation.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the chemical, manufacturing, or related industries is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), financial modeling, and advanced Excel skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is a plus.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members to realize their potential.
