Talent Fishers is currently seeking an Operation Director for this client, who will be the highest-ranking person in charge of manufacturing technology and production efficiency, with a comprehensive role encompassing core functions such as production management, industrial engineering, process engineering, implementation of lean manufacturing systems, and equipment manufacturing and maintenance. This position aims to ensure high-efficiency, low-cost, and high-standard product manufacturing by optimizing manufacturing processes, improving equipment efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all facilities. The Operations Director will lead cross-functional teams, oversee capital investments, and champion digital transformation to maintain competitive advantage while upholding stringent quality and sustainability standards.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



 


  • Participate in the formulation of the company's development strategy and annual business plan, and organize the formulation and implementation of production strategic planning. 
  • Ensure that the production site meets the company's and international standards for safety, occupational health, and environment, with zero tolerance for safety incidents.
  • Establish and improve production and operation systems and processes to ensure the smooth completion of production plans and quality.
  • Lead production performance management, and maximize capacity through continuous monitoring and improvement of key indicators (such as OEE, production yield, and labor efficiency).
  • Lead the industrial engineering team to optimize production line layout, conduct time studies, and set standard working hours to eliminate waste, balance production lines, and improve human and machine efficiency.
  • Lead for establishing, promoting, and deepening the lean production system, including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping (VSM), One-Piece Flow, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
  • Manage the process engineering team to ensure the stability and consistency of all manufacturing processes, technologies, and parameters. Lead the tackling of process challenges and the elimination of bottlenecks, improving product quality and production yield through technological improvements. Responsible for process design, pilot production, and validation during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, ensuring a smooth transition from R&D to mass production.
  • Lead the lifecycle management of key production equipment, including procurement selection, installation, and commissioning of equipment manufactured in-house or purchased externally. Drive the automation and intelligent transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing process to improve the technological level and flexibility of the production line.
  • Lead the maintenance team to implement preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Collaborate across functions with departments such as marketing, sales, R&D, quality, and supply chain to ensure consistency from the technology level to the execution level.
  • Responsible for designing the organizational structure and improving the technical skills of the operations technology team (IE, process, equipment, etc.) to build a high-performing professional team.

 

 



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES   



  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields; MBA or Master of Engineering Management preferred.
  • Proficient in the theory and practice of Industrial Engineering (IE), Process Engineering, and Equipment Engineering, with full-process technical management capabilities from design to mass production.
  • Deep understanding of equipment and efficiency metrics such as OEE, and experience in improving metrics through systematic maintenance.
  • Familiar with digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 concepts, and possess project experience in driving factory automation and digitalization.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • At least 15 years of experience in production manufacturing and technical engineering management, including at least 5-8 years as Operations Director or Technical/Engineering Director in a large manufacturing company (1000+ employees).
  • Language Skills: Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • With experience working in large foreign-invested or joint-venture enterprises or the automotive industry.
