The Senior Product Development Manager will serve as the core operational bridge connecting the brand’s China supply chain with its overseas design and production teams. This role is responsible for building and maturing the brand’s local China sourcing and product development system, identifying and developing high-end tier-one Chinese manufacturers across diversified product categories, and driving material, craftsmanship and innovative product iteration. The incumbent will strictly uphold premium quality standards and shape the brand’s localized supply chain innovation and co-development model from scratch.

 

This is a pioneering, end-to-end entrepreneurial role tailored for professionals who excel at building new organizational functions and cross-border collaborative systems. You will independently optimize the brand’s Chinese manufacturing resource layout and lead in-depth co-innovation between international premium fashion brands and top domestic manufacturers.

Supplier Sourcing & Qualification

1. Source, screen and qualify high-caliber top-tier Chinese suppliers across core product categories, prioritizing manufacturers with mature cooperative experience with international high-end fashion brands.
2. Organize and conduct pre-site investigation, supplier due diligence and preliminary audits, and establish standardized shortlists for internal review and approval.
3. Evaluate and verify supplier comprehensive capabilities covering premium quality standards, production stability, delivery flexibility, cost structure and MOQ compliance to match the brand’s high-end positioning.

 

Innovation & Co-Development

1. Evaluate suppliers’ comprehensive R&D strength, independent innovation capabilities, patent reserves and cross-brand co-development track records.
2. Proactively explore and introduce innovative materials, advanced manufacturing techniques and creative design solutions, including AI-assisted digital design tools, to build differentiated product competitiveness for the brand’s collections.
3. Bring professional industry insight and innovative thinking to empower and upgrade supplier technical capabilities, rather than merely managing existing supplier resources.

 

Sample Management & Quality Assurance

1. Coordinate the full process of reference sample, prototype and trial sample development and submission from shortlisted suppliers.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessment combining pre-visit field research and sample quality performance to screen high-quality suppliers for in-depth cooperation and on-site formal audits.
3. Establish standardized sample management and feedback mechanisms to ensure efficient information alignment between overseas teams and Chinese suppliers.

 

Training & Cross-Border Exchange

1. Design and deliver customized professional training sessions for internal global teams, including demand collection, topic confirmation, framework formulation and lecturer selection.
2. Organize and co-lead on-site industry study tours in China, covering supplier factory visits, technical training and project debrief meetings.
3. Help overseas design and production teams intuitively understand local craftsmanship advantages and build stable, direct long-term cooperative relationships with Chinese manufacturers.

 

Local Team Building & Ongoing Operation

1. Support the full construction and iteration of the brand’s China-based sourcing and product development organizational system, including process specification, supplier management mechanism and cross-border collaboration rules.
2. Serve as the long-term operational lead for the brand’s China sourcing and product development business after onboarding.
3. Be responsible for daily supplier relationship management, business docking and collaborative mode optimization, ensuring the efficient and accurate implementation of overseas design and production requirements in China.
4. Continuously optimize the supplier ecosystem to improve supply chain stability, response efficiency and quality consistency.

 

 

 

 

1. Possess minimum 8–12 years of solid working experience in product development, sourcing, supply chain management or industrialization within high-end fashion, premium apparel or luxury consumer industries, with profound practical experience in high-standard product manufacturing and supply chain operation
2. Proven industry innovation performance, with successful track records of launching new materials, advanced craftsmanship, optimized supplier resources or innovative cooperation modes to drive product upgrading and brand competitiveness improvement.
3. In-depth and hands-on understanding of China’s high-end manufacturing landscape, covering premium fabrics, luxury trims, hardware & leather components, footwear and sneakers, knitwear, jersey, woven apparel and innovative technical textiles. Possess mature resource connections with top-tier domestic factories and workshops.
4. Expert understanding of premium-level quality control standards, complete sampling development processes and MOQ negotiation strategies, with strong ability to balance quality, cost and production flexibility.
5. Excellent cross-cultural and cross-organizational communication capabilities. Able to professionally and credibly present Chinese suppliers’ technical strengths to global teams, and accurately convey brand premium standards and business requirements to local cooperative partners.
6. Hands-on experience in training content design, industry study tour organization and supplier delegation reception is a strong plus. Relevant experience in AI-assisted design, innovative material application and sustainable supply chain development is highly preferred.
7. Fluent in both Mandarin and English; proficiency in French is a bonus.
8. Based in China or willing to relocate to China, available for regular business trips to Europe.
9. Entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on working style, strong ownership and execution capability. Comfortable with building new business systems and standardized processes from scratch in a blank-slate environment.
